Michael O’Leary
Michael A. O’Leary is a proud Pittsburgh native who earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from Duquesne University.
While in law school, Mike clerked for the criminal defense firm Thomas N. Farrell & Associates, gaining valuable experience in trial advocacy and motion practice. After graduation, he served as tipstaff to the Honorable Ronaldo W. Folino of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, where he deepened his understanding of courtroom dynamics and judicial decision-making.
Since joining the firm in 2014, Mike has dedicated his practice to civil litigation and trial work. His areas of focus include employment law, personal injury, medical negligence, and complex business and commercial disputes, including U5 defamation and FINRA arbitration matters. He has served as lead counsel in both state and federal courts, and has substantial experience managing all phases of litigation, from pleadings through verdict.
Mike has participated as second chair in numerous arbitrations and jury trials, including a nearly month-long medical malpractice case involving a nationally recognized healthcare provider. He has also acted as lead trial counsel in matters before arbitration panels and the courts, demonstrating exceptional poise and judgment beyond his years of practice.
In March 2016, Mike co-tried a Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) retaliation case in AAA arbitration, resulting in a favorable award exceeding $280,000.
In 2018, Mike was instrumental in securing a favorable resolution in a major products liability case involving a dangerously defective consumer product.
That same year, in December 2018, Mike co-tried a landmark case with Jason Archinaco on behalf of two co-founders of a music technology platform, after the company refused to pay the value of their vested stock options. The jury awarded 100 cents on the dollar, plus interest dating back to the initial breach—resulting in full recovery and a significant victory in a closely watched dispute.
Outside the courtroom, Mike enjoys playing in the ACBA Premiership soccer league and spending time with his wife and their two children in Pittsburgh.
